Ways To Help Mom With All The Kids At Home

With all the changes going on regarding the coronavirus and the children being home from school, the house can start getting a bit crazy! Even worse is the fact that we’re all stuck in this quarantine and should not leave our own houses. Children are going to get reckless and, believe me, objects are going to become broken—fast. Kids are going to be kids though. Just thinking about all the stuff that will be getting broken can be a bit scary, but here are some ways to help keep everything calm and in one piece. Trust me, I have kids of my own and all of these have become a must-have in my household!

Ways To Help Mom With All The Kids At Home

Prehung Doors

With kids chasing each other around and throwing things at each other, something is bound to break. Most of the time one child will try to run as fast into a room to get away and in the door slamming process part of the door will end out becoming broken. Prehung doors are the way to go for replacing a broken door that will end up getting broken again. These doors come already assembled and easy to install for an average person to be able to put in themselves.

Unlike slab doors, a prehung door becomes much more convenient for the average family with very active children. When installing these type of doors, you are able to make the doorknob flush with the wall so when the door does get pushed open, it can only go so far instead of hitting the wall and creating those annoying dings in the walls. Be prepared!

Bean Bag Chairs

Kids love to move furniture around and a good way to avoid scuff marks on your floor is to get them some bean bag chairs. Bean bag chairs are much easier for them to move around and not damaging anything in the process. An extra bonus from getting bean bag chairs is that these can also become a fun thing for the kids to throw at each other. Just another fun activity to do from being stuck inside due to the virus. Plus, this is a way to also keep them off of those video games for just a little bit and interact with each other. Get online and find a few other ideas to keep your kids busy and off the electronics.

Portion Freezing Food

With everyone being home, there is barely going to be enough time for cooking. By the time you get everything out to make dinner, everyone is going to be complaining about how hungry they are and that you’re taking too much time. One way that I’ve found to help with this issue is by setting some time out on Mondays and freeze different portions of food to quickly fix throughout the week ahead. This is so time-efficient and easy to do for you can spend more time with your little ones. “Steps to Follow” is a good article to read about this. Her detailed nap time freezing portions book is a great one to follow. This shows all the step by step ways to start freezing food and saving time to spend with your busy family.

These are just a few things that I have found helpful inside of my household. We have saved so much on flooring, walls, doors, and time by just switching and just doing these three things. There are plenty of other things you can do around the house to help yourself out during this time. With coronavirus and school being out, us moms have to look out for each other and these are some tips from me to you. Just keep remembering to breathe. Kids will be kids and this is a time that we are all learning to live through. None of us could have predicted having to be stuck inside of our houses for the whole summer and we’re all having to learn to adjust to it. Hang in there momma (or daddy). School will start back up soon and then we can leave our houses.
