When it comes to meatballs, I can’t say that I make them very often. I have made them for my spaghetti years ago but it wasn’t something I ever thought about making until this past weekend! I made tasty meatballs that I want to make again…
I was recently asked to make the Ultimate Party Meatballs. I love trying new dishes so I agreed but I wasn’t that excited about making the meatballs until I smelled them cooking in my crockpot. Let me mention the ingredients and I will explain why.

1. Heinz Chili Sauce
2. Ocean Spray Jellied Cranberry Sauce
3. Johnsonville Classic Italian Meatballs

Now I like stuff that is spicy, so I didn’t mind the chili sauce. I like cranberry juice but I have never been a fan of the cranberry sauce. My Nana used to serve it at our Thanksgiving dinner and I never put it on my plate.

Now I never judge a recipe by it’s ingredients without trying it so I was up to try the meatballs once they were done. After cooking for a few hours and smelling the meatballs brewing in the crockpot, I had to taste just one. That lead to me tasting a couple more. Lets just say that the meatballs got eaten before I could take some good pictures with them! I definitely will be adding these to our list of dishes to make this month for Thanksgiving dinner.

When was the last time you tried some homemade meatballs?

Now that the weather has finally cooled down, I have really been using my oven. I have been making a lot of homemade breads since I learned to make bread at school but I have been making a lot more! I am a big fan of casseroles and had been wanting to try a recipe I found a few months ago in my Taste Of Home magazine.

Since the recipe turned out YUMMY and I plan on making it again, I thought I would share the recipe here too.

I LOVE this time of year. Not only is it sweatshirt weather, it is also time to make desserts that include pumpkin. I don’t know why, but picking pumpkins is always fun no matter how old I get. I enjoy carving them and I also enjoy eating them.

All four of my children started the new school year last month. It was fun going shopping for school clothes and school supplies and so far all four are enjoying the first weeks of school. Not only are the kids in school, I am also enrolled full time at our community college.

1. Safeway Back to School 10% School Donation Program
2. Tyson Project A++ Program

For those with a Safeway near, you can earn 10% back on selected products while shopping that your school will receive. Signing up is easy too! You simply visit escrip.com, register with your card and select the school that you would like to receive your donations. You will want to look for products with this label near:

Even if you don’t have children in school, you can signup for the Safeway Back To School Donation Program so your local school can earn some money or maybe you have a niece or nephew that you can add their school. Once you are signed up, the donations will be made automatically to the school of your choice when you shop.  If you do not want to register, you can save your receipt and look for the redemption code that you can use to submit your donation.

Now the Tyson A++ program works similar to the Box Tops Labels. Tyson now has labels on the back of their products that you can clip now too! There are 30+ Tyson products that have these special marked labels. Many of these products are products that my family already buys each month. That means now our school will earn a little just from our purchases.

For those that clip Box Tops, you probably know the school gets 10 cents for each one that you clip. The Tyson Project A++ labels are worth .24 cents each for your school which is over double the value of the Box Top Labels. Now you can clip both types of labels to help support your schools.

I LOVE the variety of products that Tyson offers. I love cooking but there are days and nights when I am busy and need to put together quick and easy meals.  I think it is great that they are putting these labels on more than 30 of their products to help our schools get the extra help they deserve. Here are some of our Tyson favorites:

My kids, even my oldest just love the Tyson Fun Nuggets. This summer I had fun creating cute little lunches to keep their bellies food and maybe even a smile on their face. Its easy to put together an easy quick meal with some chicken, veggies, potatoes and of course the dipping sauces. Here is a easy lunch that my kids enjoy!

For those that love to dip your chicken, here is a recipe for a YUMMY dipping sauce that we enjoy:

• 1/2 cup mayonnaise
• 2 tsp mustard
• 2 tbs honey
• 1 tsp lemon juice
• 1 tbs BBQ sauce

In a small bowl mix all the ingredients above. Then dip and enjoy!
