This month I was invited to be one of the All Good April Ambassadors to help celebrate a month long celebration of all things goods hosted by Carrington Farms.
This month Carrington Farms sent me some of their coconut oil, coconut cooking oil and some organic milled flax seeds. I was excited about the coconut oil because I LOVE to use coconut oil when I bake sweets like cakes or cupcakes that call for vegetable oil. Not only does it taste better, it can offer some benefits too!
I really like that they have two different coconut oil products. I plan on using the pure and unrefined coconut oil to make some homemade lip gloss with my daughters. As far as the coconut cooking oil, I look forward to seeing how this product taste like compared to the other brands I have used.
I am a big fan of coconut oil for lots of reasons. Below are some of the health benefits of coconut oil:
- Coconut Oil possesses a wide variety of health benefits due to its fiber and nutritional content. It has earned the moniker of the “healthiest oil in the world”.
- Coconut oil is made up of medium chain fatty acids (MCFA). These fatty acids do not have a negative effect on cholesterol. They are known to lower the risk of heart disease and arteriosclerosis. The liver and the gall bladder do not need to digest and emulsify MCFA, resulting in instant energy, increased metabolic rate and subsequently more heat production and increased circulation.
- Coconut Oil also has been known to kill bacteria, ease acid reflux, aid in proper bowel function, lower incidence of hemorrhoids, relieves intestinal problems, sooths ear aches, strengthen the liver, reduces joint and muscle inflammation.
