Pillsbury Cinnabon Bakery Inspired Cinnamon Rolls

The mornings are usually hectic at my house. With four children getting ready for school, there isn’t much time to relax. On the weekends though, that is another story. Weekends are my time to sleep in, be lazy and relax and usually enjoy a good breakfast with the family.

I received a little weekend indulgence package that included some Pillsbury goodies. I couldn’t wait to try the Pillsbury Cinnabon Bakery Inspired Cinnamon Rolls. I wanted to see if they tasted just as good as the Cinnabon rolls I have had in the past.

Strawberry Cheesecake Cake Batter Dip

While many people enjoy snacking on chips and dip, sometimes having some yummy graham crackers or chocolate animal cookies and some cheesecake cake batter dip can be even better.

When looking for different snacks, chips and salsa can get boring. I love chips and guacamole but there are those times when you are craving something sweet. I love making cake batter dip. The kids LOVE it and I have to admit that I do too. Normally I use regular whole milk or whipping cream when making this stuff but this time I though I would get a little creative and use some of the Trumoo Strawberry Milk to give it some extra flavor!

If you are having a party for the kids it can be fun to add some characters into your dip before you serve it to them. My kids LOVE the Minion graham crackers and the chocolate animal crackers that I found.

My kids LOVE the Chocolate TruMoo Milk and was excited to see mom use the strawberry milk for something sweet in the kitchen. Trumoo is sweetened with just enough sugar and contains NO high fructose corn syrup, NO artificial growth hormones and NO HFCS.

For those wanting to make some of this yummy dip, please find the easy recipe below:

Ingredients:

1/2 cup white cake mix
1/2 cup cheesecake dessert mix/pudding
1/2 cup Trumoo Strawberry Milk
2 cups whipped topping
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup sprinkles
3 drops red food coloring (optional)

Directions:

In a large bowl add dry ingredients.
In another bowl add remaining ingredients and mix well.
Add wet mixture to dry mixture. Stir and place in bowl. Add a few sprinkles to top for decoration.

This is just a fun idea with the Trumoo Strawberry Milk. I bet this would be great using the Trumoo Chocolate Milk too. Looking for more Trumoo ideas, visit TruMoo on Facebook.

Healthy Stuffed Shells Recipe

I made a Healthy Stuffed Shells Recipe that I found online for lunch today and they were really delicious and something I plan on making again soon. I could eat pasta for breakfast, lunch or dinner. How about you?

Pasta is something that can easily fit into any busy lifestyle. With pasta the budget friendly dishes that you can create are endless. Pasta is a complex carb that provides our bodies with fuel. Pasta goes great with fiber-filled vegetables and beans, heart healthy fish oils, antioxidant-rich tomato sauce and poultry and lean meats to create dishes that active families will enjoy.

My family loves pasta and I try to incorporate it in many of our meals. My kids probably would say that spaghetti is their favorite but I am leaning more towards lasagna and stuffed shells. I love making stuffed shells but today I tried a healthier than my own. I love that these stuffed shells are delicious, easy to make and have veggies inside. I normally try to sneak the spinach in mine, but this was the first time I have had this type of dish with carrots and I thought it was a great little twist.

Healthy Stuffed Shells Recipe

For those that want to try these delicious stuffed pasta shells, below is the recipe from the PastaFits website.

Healthy Stuffed Shells Recipe

Recipe Type: Main Course

Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

24 Jumbo Shells, uncooked
2 cups low-sodium canned tomato sauce
1 10-oz. package frozen chopped spinach, thawed
8 oz. shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese (about 1 3/4 cup)
1 1/2 cups low-fat, part-skim ricotta cheese
3 medium carrots, peeled and grated (about 2/3 cup)
3 egg whites
1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
Large pinch ground nutmeg
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

Cook pasta according to package directions; drain and rinse under cold water until completely cool. Drain thoroughly.
Preheat oven to 350° F. Squeeze as much water as possible from the thawed spinach.
In a large bowl, stir together the spinach, mozzarella, ricotta, carrots, egg whites, pepper and nutmeg until thoroughly blended.
Line the bottom of an 11 x 7-inch baking dish with 1/2 cup tomato sauce. Divide the ricotta mixture among the pasta shells, pressing the filling into the shells with spoon to completely fill each shell.
Arrange the shells side by side in a baking dish. Coat the shells with an even layer of the remaining tomato sauce. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, if desired.
Bake until the center of the shells are heated through and the sauce is bubbling (about 40 minutes). Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Making Lunches Healthy & Fun With Hillshire Farm Naturals

Now that school is back in session, I am back into lunch making mode. My kids do enjoy eating the school’s lunch on some days bu there are many days when they want to pack their own lunch. I have the school cafeteria calendar on the fridge and when they see a meal on the calendar that they know they don’t want to eat, they let mom know they would like to bring lunch instead.

When it comes to sandwich meat, all sandwich meat is not the same. While I really enjoy having fresh sandwich meat cut from the deli, that isn’t always the affordable way to go when you have a large family. This week I found the new Hillshire Farm Naturals lunchmeat at Walmart and I couldn’t wait to take it home to try it….

Meatless Stuffed Bell Peppers Recipe

One of my favorite things to cook is stuffed bell peppers. I am picky about my bell peppers though. I like to use organic bell peppers that are fresh and large in size. What I like about shopping at Safeway is the produce. Compared to the other grocery stores that I shop at for groceries, Safeway seems to have the BEST and also their produce last longer than the two grocery stores that are closer to me….
