Miss Hannah Needs Glasses
I took Hannah to the doctor last week for a routine visit. I asked them to check her eyes because the school had sent home a note asking me to have me make an appointment with my doctor to check her vision. Before we got to appointment, I had a feeling they were going to say that Hannah needed glasses. Well the nurse does one of those tests where they have you read letters. When Hannah they covered Hannah’s left eye, she had problems reading the letters. Inside I panicked a little. You never want anything to be wrong with your children, especially your vision.
So the nurse makes an appointment with the optical services department. I take Hannah two days later to have her eyes fully checked out. Just as I thought, she needs glasses. I guess she really needs them because the doctor says she has to wear them full time. Hannah is excited about it and I am hoping that these glasses is going to help her improve at school. I am glad that glasses today are not as nerdy as they were thought of when I was a child. They also have name brand frames available by brands like Juicy Couture, Lucky Brand, Disney, Converse and more! Hannah definitely had FUN trying all the different glasses on.
I will be posting a picture of Hannah in her new glasses when she gets them!

I Interviewed A Top Chef Today
This morning has been an exciting morning for me. I received an email last week that asked if I would like to interview Top Chef Richard Blais for my cooking blog ThisMomCanCook.com. I have to admit that I didn’t respond right away. I waited until my husband woke up to tell him the news. I am one of those “shy” people, so talking to a celebrity is SCARY you could say. Once my husband said go for it, I emailed back and replied with, “Yes, I would LOVE to”.
If you have not heard of Richard, he appeared on BRAVO’s Emmy Award winning serious “Top Chef” and “Top Chef Masters”. He has also appeared on the Food Network’s “Iron Chef America” and “Food”. Check him out on Facebook here.
So this weekend I thought about what I would ask Richard. Yesterday, I got the information with a link needed for my interview and that is when I knew this was for REAL. I clicked the link did NOT work, so I PANIC! I immediately emailed my contact back to let her know that I was unable to get the link to work. Luckily, last night I decided to change internet connections. My neighbors luckily have a wireless connection that I can borrow, so I tried connecting to theirs and the link worked. With that good news, I was able to go to bed last night knowing I was going to be able to do my interview this morning.
So I wake up this morning at a little after 5am, before my alarm clock goes off and I am NERVOUS. I stayed in bed for a bit, but had to get up by 6am because I had to be prepared and my phone was going to be ringing. See, my interview was scheduled at 6:15am and I had to make sure my computer was on, online and ready to go. You have no idea how nervous I was waiting for the phone to ring that would have the Top Chef Richard Blais on the other end.
Well the interview went well and I will be publishing it on ThisMomCanCook.com this evening…..
I LOVE the opportunities that all into your path when you are a blogger!
