Once Upon A Time – Season One On Blu-ray & DVD

Up until a couple weeks ago, I had not heard of ABC’s Once Upon A Time series. I watch TV, but when I get a chance to watch it I am normally watching the shows I recorded on the DVR. Once I put the Once Upon A Time series in the Blu-ray player I was hooked. I even caught my husband stopping to watch what I was watching too. I even got my daughter Hailey hooked. She was more hooked than me and went ahead and finished the series before me. I told her she better not tell me how it ends.

The Evil Queen has cast an evil spell on an enchanted forest filled with fairytale characters. The curse trapped these characters in a place where all their happy endings were stolen – our world. Now the Evil Queen is acting as town mayor, and all of the inhabitants of the fairytale world of Storybrooke can’t seem to remember any details of their past lives. As the truth starts to unfold, the battle between good and evil begins. Bonus materials include “Welcome To Storybrooke,” a feature that takes you on a tour of the town that was the inspiration for the show, deleted scenes, audio commentaries, bloopers, and much, much more!!!

If you are a fan of the Once Upon A Time Series but missed some episodes, here is your chance to get caught up before the new season starts at the end of the month. For those that have never heard of it and are a fan of fairy tale characters you might also want to grab a copy of the season and watch it before the new season too!

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey – DRAGONS – Coming To Sacramento + Ticket Deal

Ever since I was a little girl I have enjoyed going to the circus. I remember the circus tents, the clowns, the animals and I even remember getting to take a ride on the back of an elephant when I was young and I thought it was the coolest thing to do ever.

Now that I have my own children, I try to take them to the circus whenever the Ringling Bros. and Barnun & Bailey’s “The Greatest Show On Earth” comes to my town. The circus only comes one a year, so I got to make sure to take the kids when they are here.

Last year I took my kids and it was a total BLAST. Before the show started, the circus had a “pre-show” that allowed us to see the animals up close and my son still talks to this day about the zebra that kept shaking his head at us.

The zebra isn’t the only thing my 4 year old son remembers at the pre-show last year.

He also likes to mention these silly elephants, but I won’t tell you why he remembers them so well. Lets just say they were putting on their own little performance for us that my son is probably going to remember forever.

Next month, the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus is coming to Sacramento on September 6, 2012 through September 9, 2012 with their new “Dragons” show that is sure to be a HIT. For the first time in history, myth and mystery will share the arena at the Power Balance Pavilion. I love dragons and so does my son so I know we are going to LOVE the show next month.

The Tillamook #LoafLove Tour In Sacramento

Last weekend was HOT but the kids and I took a trip to the Sacramento Zoo for Tillamook’s #LoafLove Tour which we couldn’t pass up because we just LOVE the Tillamook cheese products. This fun tour happens to be the third annual cross-country mobile cheese sampling event that is currently making its journey through California (The Golden State) and Washington.

With the #LoafLove tour, the first 100 fans that were sporting their happiest and cheesiest Tillamoook orange shirts were awarded with a free ticket to the zoo. When we arrived, we all wanted to take a group picture in front of the cute Tillamook refurbished VW bus.

Once we  entered the zoo we headed to a special VIP area to hang out with the Tillamook crew including Tillamook’s Loafy and some other Northern California bloggers for some games, lunch and a fun Grilled Cheese Sandwich Contest. …

The Lorax Blu-ray Review + Activity Sheet

Ever since I was a child I have been a fan of Dr. Seuss. I remember I used to have all of the little hardback books when I was young and would love reading these books over the others because they had funny sayings that would rhyme and they were fun to read.

Yesterday I had some time alone with the husband and we thought it would be fun to watch a movie while the kids were gone and it was quiet. Being kids at heart, we thought it would be fun to watch The Lorax that just came out on Blu-ray and DVD a week ago since I already had a copy of the movie that the kids already enjoyed watching without us. Actually, I met The Lorax in New York earlier this month at BlogHer’12 which had me wanting to watch the movie even more.

In The Lorax, Ted lives in the happy town of Thneedville where everything is perfect except for the air. In Thneedville the only trees you will find are trees that are fake and the air is something that can be purchased in a bottle. Disney’s The Odd Life Of Timothy Green Review + Movie Trailer

Last night I took my two oldest daughters to see a screening of the new movie coming out next week, The Odd Life Of Timothy Green. I have to admit that it was my second time seeing it within the last week. I also had the opportunity to watch a screening last weekend in NYC during BlogHer’12 and it was so good I didn’t mind watching it a second time before it hits the theaters.

Academy Award®–nominated director/writer Peter Hedges (“Dan in Real Life,” What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?”) brings enchantment to the screen with “The Odd Life of Timothy Green,” an inspiring, magical story about a happily married couple, Cindy and Jim Green (Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton), who can’t wait to start a family but can only dream about what their child would be like. When young Timothy (CJ Adams) shows up on their doorstep one stormy night, Cindy and Jim—and their small town of Stanleyville—learn that sometimes the unexpected can bring some of life’s greatest gifts.

I had been anxious to watch this film the first time I ever seen the trailer for it. It definitely has a unique story line which sounded very interesting and one of my favorite actresses just happens to star in the film. I just love movies with Jennifer Garner and I think they found the perfect role for her part in the movie. With this movie, I cried both times that I watched it. I cried a little less the second time around because I was prepared, but I couldn’t get away with not shedding some tears. I even seen my daughter’s wiping their eyes too.

While this movie does have a sad but happy ending, it is one of those movies you hope they have a sequel to. If you plan to see it in the theaters, be sure to bring a couple tissues.  🙂

The Odd Life Of Timothy Green opens in theaters everywhere on Wednesday, August 15th! Even though I have seen this movie twice, I know I won’t mind watching it again and plan on adding it to my movie collection at home  whenever it comes out on DVD as well.
