When it comes to my children, my youngest child (my only son) who is 4 is a very active little boy. During the day when I am working at my desk you will usually find him in his room playing with his toys. He has a ton of toys, but a lot of them don’t get much use. I am always looking for toys that will keep him entertained.

I recently received one of the Little Tikes Cook ‘N Grow Kitchens that I recently put in his room to help keep him busy. Since mom likes to cook, my son likes to pretend that he knows how to cook too!

When I received this box I couldn’t really hide it without my son seeing it. The box was big and yellow and as soon as my son seen the picture on the box he asked multiple times if he could play with it. He wanted to play with this kitchen badly!

I didn’t give in and I made the poor boy wait. He didn’t get to open it right away like he thought was going to happen.  I had a plan and wanted to re-organize his room first before I put in the kitchen. I used this kitchen as a bribing device and told him he had to earn it by being a good boy. He was almost on his best behavior but constantly asked if he was being a good boy so after a couple days I re-organized his room to make room for his new red and white kitchen.

What I like about this Little Tikes Cook ‘n Grow Kitchen  is you can set it up two different ways, from toddler (Stage 1) to preschooler (Stage 2). Since my son is at the preschool age, I set the Little Tikes Cook ‘n Grow Kitchen the Stage 2 way but it is also the way that my son wanted it to look. It was really easy to put together and didn’t take too much time. My son watched the whole time and couldn’t wait to get his hands on the kitchen and all the accessories that it comes with.

I have seen my son play with this kitchen almost every day the last month that I have had it in his room. For me, I love to see my kids make use of their toys. It can be disappointing when you buy your child a toy that they only play with it once or twice and forget about it. With this toy, he plays with it daily and is always bringing me something that he has made to eat from his kitchen.

I will admit that I was lazy and I didn’t screw on the oven hood to the kitchen when I put it together. I thought I could just set it on, but truth is it will fall off which might upset the little ones playing in the kitchen. If you get one of these, make sure you follow all of the setup instructions that include using a screw to hold the oven hood into place. Other than that, it was simple to setup and provides hours of fun and entertainment for those ages 1 1/2 and up!
