I remember when I was a little girl, I used to absolutely LOVE the My Little Pony toys. They were actually one of my FAVORITE things to collect and play with. Back when I played with these toys, they sure didn’t do what the My Little Pony toys can do now.

The My Little Pony toys by Hasbro have definitely come a long way since I was a child. I remember playing with just the regular My Little Pony figurines. Hasbro now has all sorts of figurines in different sizes and also some pretty cool accessories that my daughter Hannah is now wanting like the Pony Princess Wedding Castle.

I recently had the opportunity to review the My Little Pony Princess Cadance. This pretty pony stands 9″ inches tall and can talk with a push of button. To make this toy even more entertaining, she comes all dressed in a pretty wedding dress and crown with wings that can move and light up.

For the little girls on your shopping list, this would make a great gift as they can style Princess Cadance’s hair for her special day and pretend like the toy is getting married.  The Princess Cadance toy is geared towards children ages 3+ but I will have to mention that my daughter is 8 and still loves this fun toy.

When I showed my two youngest children that I had a copy of Gummibär: The Yummy Gummy Search For Santa, they wanted to watch it right then and there. I heard please more than once from each of them. I thought I had scored a point for mom when I seen how excited they were.

Synopsis – When Santa is reported missing on Christmas Eve, Gummibär and his band of wacky, misfit friends shake their booties from the North Pole to the tropics on a madcap search. But when they discover Santa was abducted by a dance-crazed alien, the fate of Christmas morning rests in the hands — and feet — of our lovable green gummy bear! Featuring the #1 hit “I Am A Gummy Bear (The Gummy Bear Song)” two holiday-themed songs and other Gummibär hits, saving Christmas has never been this much fun!

This is such a CUTE movie from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. I have seen this character before on YouTube with my kids, so I already knew they were going to be thrilled. They are so excited about this movie that they have already watched it 4 times in the last week that I have had a copy of it. They asked to watch it again today, but I told them to take a break so they didn’t get tired of it before the holidays.  The songs on the song are a little addicting too. It is something that will keep the kids entertained and will make you smile if you watch it with them!

Give A Dam App Review

One thing I love about my iPhone is all the Apps that I can install. Rarely can I ever get bored if I am somewhere and I have my phone with me, that is unless there is no cell phone signal which is pretty rare.

I have been playing a BRAND NEW game on my iPhone called Give A Dam that just came out on iTunes last week. Now only is this game entertaining, it is also FREE to download in iTunes for those of you with an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.

In this CUTE game, Chupa Chuck lives by the “Life Less Serious” philosophy that involves sitting back, relaxing and taking the time to enjoy all the quirky and funny things of life while enjoying Chupa Chups. For those unfamiliar with Chupa Chups, it is a lollipop company that was founded in Spain in 1958 that live by this “Life Less Serious” philosophy.

When playing this game, you try to save the Chupa Chups flavors by guiding the little floating characters down the dangerous river. The object to the game is to stack the characters so that they don’t fall down into the waterfall. Below I have shared some screenshots of my creative stacking ideas.

The Give A Dam game  has 120 different levels that you can unlock. There are also levels that you can unlock by sharing and liking this game on Facebook and also writing a review about it.  Here are some other features I thought I would share:

  • Specially animated Chupa Chups flavors that have long rotating limbs.
  • No definite way of solving each challenge that allows you to test your skills.
  • Get rewarded with lollipop sticks to complete the whole dam so the flavors can swim freely.
  • Fun music
  • Free updates
  • Challenges available in Game Center.

I think this game is fun and it definitely can provide hours of fun and FREE entertainment. Energizer Review & Safety Kit Giveaway

A couple weeks ago my 4 year old son got to experience having no power for the first time. My power has went out before, but either when he was younger or when he was sleeping and didn’t know. He was a little scared but thanks to Energizer, this time I was prepared with some products that everyone should have around their home.

New Movies on Blu-ray This Month

Since the weather has been finally cold, I got some time this past weekend to snuggle in my bed and watch two movies that were just released onto Blu-ray yesterday.

The first movie that I watched was Sweet Home Alabama. This was my second or third time watching this movie and probably won’t be the last. I am a fan of Reese Witherspoon and I just LOVE the plot to this story.

Synopsis: Melanie Carmichael, an up and rising fashion designer in New York, has gotten almost everything she wished for since she was little. She has a great career and the JFK-like fiancée of New York City. But when he proposes to her, she doesn’t forget about her family back down South. More importantly, her husband backthere, who refuses to divorce her ever since she sent divorce papers seven years ago. To set matters straight, she decides to go to the south quick and make him sign the papers. When things don’t turn out the way she planned them, she realizes that what she had before in the south was far more perfect than the life she had in New York City.

The second movie that I watched this weekend was Beaches. This was actually the first time I have ever seen this movie even though it originally debuted in 1991. When this film first came out I was in high school and didn’t have much time for much, never the less movies that had sad but happy endings. If you have never seen this one, it might just leave you in tears.

Synopsis: When the irrepressible C.C. Bloom and the shy and proper Hilary Whitney meet for the first time under the boardwalk, the 11 year olds have something in common, they both need a best friend. They continue to stay friends even thought they live different lifestyles and are worlds apart by keeping in touch through letters and phone calls.

These are two great movies that you will want to add to your Blu-ray collection! They also might make great gifts for those that are fans of Bette Middler, Reese Witherspoon or Patrick Dempsey. Both of these titles happen to be on sale right now on Amazon for under $15 too!
