Disney On Ice: Toy Story 3 – Starts Tonight In Sacramento

Tonight the Power Balance Pavilion is going to be packed with lots of Disney fans for Disney On Ice: Toy Story 3. I have been to a couple Disney On Ice shows in the past and enjoyed each of the shows I have attended.

Tomorrow, I am taking my youngest two children to Toy Story 3 on ice and I bet it is going to be a blast. What I like is that each time I have seen a Disney On Ice show, it has been different than the last. We love all of the Toy Story characters, so we are going to be in for a treat and I am sure a ton of laughs.

If you are in the Sacramento area, the Disney On Ice: Toy Story 3 will be at the Power Balance Pavilion February 15 through February 20. Tickets start at only $14 and offers great entertainment and fun for the whole family. The next event is scheduled to be in San Jose,  then in Oakland for those of you that are more farther in Northern CA.

Disney On Ice is not just for kids, it is for those of all ages. Don’t forget to bring some money for souvenirs and maybe some cotton candy. Each Disney On Ice event has always had really cool light up toys that your little ones are going to want. I always come prepared!

The Secret World Of Arriety – Review + Trailer and In Theaters 02/17

If you know me than you probably already know I am a big fan of Disney movies. I grew up watching Disney movies and now that I have my own children, they are growing up watching Disney movies too!

This weekend I had I had the opportunity to watch a screening of the new Disney film that comes to theaters next week, The Secret World Of Arriety. I have four children and wasn’t sure which one I wanted to take with me. I decided on taking my daughter Hannah who my husband and I thought would enjoy the movie the most.

About the movie:

Residing quietly beneath the floorboards are little people who live undetected in a secret world to be discovered, where the smallest may stand tallest of all.  From the legendary Studio Ghibli (“Spirited Away,” “Ponyo”) comes “The Secret World of Arrietty,” an animated adventure based on Mary Norton’s acclaimed children’s book series “The Borrowers.”

Arrietty, a tiny, but tenacious 14-year-old, lives with her parents in the recesses of a suburban garden home, unbeknownst to the homeowner and her housekeeper. Like all little people, Arrietty (AIR-ee-ett-ee) remains hidden from view, except during occasional covert ventures beyond the floorboards to “borrow” scrap supplies like sugar cubes from her human hosts. But when 12-year-old Shawn, a human boy who comes to stay in the home, discovers his mysterious housemate one evening, a secret friendship blossoms. If discovered, their relationship could drive Arrietty’s family from the home and straight into danger.

When I heard the movie had to do with “little people”, I was anxious to see it. I was a fan of “The Littles” and “The Borrowers” as a child so I knew I was going to like this film too! I surprised Hannah Saturday morning to let her know that she was going to the movies with mom!

My daughter and I really enjoyed this movie and we have quite a few favorite parts. One would be the scene where Arrietty picks up an Armadillidiidae which I refer to them as roly polies. When you see the size of the bug compared to the size of Arrietty, it gives you an impression on just how small she really is. This is going to be great for a family movie night and I can’t wait to own it on Blu-ray or DVD.

Lady and the Tramp Blu-Ray Review + Activities

Growing up I just LOVED the Disney film Lady and the Tramp. Of course as a child one of my favorite scenes was watching the famous scene with the two dogs eating a spaghetti dinner together, but I think one of all time favorite scenes is with the Siamese cats. For some reason, I just LOVE the cats and the song that is played and have sung it throughout the years at various and random times.  🙂

We watched this movie this week for one of our family movie nights and it brought back memories of watching it as a child. For those that are unfamiliar with this Disney classic, here is the scoop!

A classic love story unfolds in the best Disney tradition as a lovely young pedigreed cocker spaniel named Lady, who lives a pampered life, finds herself falling romantically for Tramp, an amorous street-smart pooch without prospects. Although they have fun together on several dates, including a sentimental spaghetti dinner by moonlight at Tony’s restaurant, their relationship is strained not only by Lady’s loyalty to her human family and their newborn baby, but by Tramp’s devil-may-care attitude that eventually gets Lady in trouble and tossed into the dog pound. However, good-hearted Tramp redeems himself by saving the baby from potential harm and thus wins Lady’s love and the affection of her human family.

I am excited to say that Disney has released Lady and the Tramp out of their vault on Feb 7 for a limited time. I have a copy of the Diamond Edition on hand and have already enjoyed taking a peek at the Bonus Features and Deleted Scenes! Here is a list of just a few of my favorites:

Real Steel On Blu-Ray & DVD This Month

One of my all time FAVORITE movies last year was Reel Steel. It was one of those movies that I couldn’t wait to watch again before I even got home from the theater. My husband and I were able to attend a screening of the movie last year and it was a total hit with both of us. We both have been anxiously awaiting for this film to come out on Blu-Ray so we can watch it with the kids. Now that we have a review copy on hand, we have watched it again a couple times. To me, this movie is that good!

This movie has some nice eye candy too! Hugh Jackman is so CUTE!

Not only is this a fun film for the family, it also can be somewhat of a tear jerker too! I seen my husband shed a tear during this movie and I am sure he wasn’t the only one….
