Strange & Interesting Hotels Around The Globe
I love to travel, although I haven’t been to many exotic places yet. Here are some strange hotels I think would be interesting to stay at.
The Boot – $244/night (New Zealand)
Hotel Costa Verde – $350 to 500/night (Costa Rica)
Asakusa Capsule Hotel -$30/night ( Toyko)
Flush Hotel – $50,000/night (South Korea)
Das Park Hotel – $100/night (Austria)
So if you had to pick one one of these strange hotels to stay the night in, which one would you choose?
War Horse Review & Movie Clip
Just months ago I was bummed that I didn’t make it to the theater to watch War Horse. I am a big fan of Steven Spielberg films and wanted to take either my husband or one of my oldest daughters to see it. Unfortunately that didn’t happen and I had to wait until it came out on Blu-Ray so I could enjoy watching it at home.
War Horse Synopsis:
The extraordinary journey of courage and friendship as seen through the eyes of one unforgettable horse named Joey and his miraculous journey to find his way back home, “War Horse” is a must own contemporary classic for everyone’s home entertainment collection. Spielberg’s renowned creative passion and artistry not only shine throughout the film but are also evident in all the fascinating bonus features included exclusively on the Blu-ray disc.
At the beginning of the movie, Albert’s father Ted buys a colt which he immediately starts to regret once he gets home because he has spent too much money and needs money to pay rent. Albert immediately becomes attached to this horse and names him “Joey”. Albert then spends hours with this house, training hims to be a plough horse for their farm. Things go for an unexpected turn and Ted ends up selling Joey to Captain James Nicholls, a young officer that promises Albert he will take care of Joey as his own and will hopefully return him after the war has ended.
Take a peek at this clip:
Even though this movie is geared around the times of World War I, this movie is a great story of friendships and leaves out all the gory details that most would think comes with a war. This horse not only is brave, he touches the hearts of the soldiers and civilians from England to Germany and to France.
War Horse is available on DVD, Blu-Ray, Digital Copy and even Amazon Instant Video. I have the War Horse 4-Disc Combo Pack that includes a Blu-Ray-, DVD, Digital Copy and Bonus Disc that is on sale at Amazon right now for $29.99. This 4-Disc combo back includes a TON of bonus features you will want to watch. Some bonuses include:
- A Filmaking Journey- A look at the making of War Horse
- Editing & Scoring – The discussion of the film’s editing and music & more
- The Sounds of War Horse- Explanation of the movie’s sophisticated sound design
- Through The Producer’s Lens – Photos during the filmaking
Even though I would have loved to see this in the theater, I am glad that I have a copy of the film to watch at home. Since this is somewhat of a long movie, there were times I had to pause the movie as well as rewind to go back to things I missed. At the theater, I don’t have the luxury of pause and rewind and all the cool bonus features you don’t get when seeing it at the theater.

Interviews With Jane Goodall, Alastair Fothergill & Mark Linfield – #DisneyGlobalEvent
Yesterday I shared our interview with the McClain Sisters which was amazing and went by too fast. Not only did we have a chance to ask these sisters questions, we also got to interview some other amazing people that include Dr Jane Goodall herself as well as two of the producers for Chimpanzee, Alastair Fothergill & Mark Linfield. …
Interview With The McClain Sisters
Last week during my trip to Florida, I got to experience some amazing things during the #DisneyGlobalEvent. The day we attended Chimpanzee’s World Premiere, we also got to interview some amazing people.
Last Friday, we had the opportunity do a quick interview with the McClain Sisters. Before we did the interview, I knew of the McClain Sisters, but the interview has left such a sweet impression of these ladies in my mind. Not only were they friendly and full of smiles, they are also down to earth and have a strong bond with their families which is inspiring and makes me wish I had a sister or two.
During the interview, our group asked these ladies different questions and here are just some of my favorites responses:
Question: How do you guys stay grounded? Um, as sisters and as a family?
Sierra: Our parents
Sisters : Our parents. Yeah…. We have really good parents.
Lauryn McClain: From the very beginning, they always taught us to always stay humble and you know, always remember what you were taught and always have faith in what you believe in.
Question: If there’s one key message that you’d like to portray to young children under the age of, you know, say, fifth grade and under, what would that be?
Sierra: Well, I have three – – two sisters and a brother, so I would definitely tell them to stick close and to love each other, and to always be there for each other, because you know our mom always taught us, my dad too, but my mom definitely taught us is that, you know, friends, they come and go sometimes, but your sisters are gonna be – – always there for you. No matter what.
China: Just stay close, and always just remember to love each other, and have fun with each other, cause it’s really great too.
After the interview, we got to take a group photo with the McClain Sisters.
I wish we would have had more time with these ladies, but I am glad we got the time that we did. If you want to hear other questions from this interview, take a peek at my video coverage our interview with the McClain Sisters below:
You can also watch the The McClain Sisters Performing Rise At Disney’s Kids and Nature Celebration which I captured on video too! Be sure to watch Chimpanzee in theaters during opening week. A portion of the proceeds for each ticket sold opening week will be donated to help save the chimps!
Disclosure – I received an invitation to take a trip to Florida for the Red Carpet Premiere of Chimpanzee as a guest of Disney and Global Resort Homes. This post is not a paid post and the opinions stated herein are 100% my own.
