This last Friday I got to take my family to see the Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey show in Sacramento after years of the show being a thing of the past. The circus was something I enjoyed taking my kids to each time it came to town and it has been over a decade since we have got to see The Greatest Show On Earth…
When we arrived at the arena I wasn’t sure what to expect. In the past I was used to seeing elephants outside while walking up to the entrance but not this time. The show is back with lots of fun for the families to watch, but without the animals. I will admit that the animals were probably one of my favorite parts of the show but there are plenty of acts that are amazing to watch that doesn’t need the animals to make it great. Hopefully those elephants that we loved to see are enjoying their life outside the circus life.
One of the first acts that caught my attention is this balancing act where the people are stacked on top of each other. I will never understand how these people can do this. Take a peek below…
Another act that I think is pretty cool is the jump rope act. Can you jump rope with two people on your head?
How about balance someone upside down on your head? These performers are super talented when it comes to BALANCING!

After the show I had to ask everyone what their favorite parts of the show were. My husband liked the different acts with the clown in the orange he said. He also liked the performers on the BMX bikes which my daughters Ariyona and Hailey said they liked to. My son said he liked the rope walkers which blew my mind. I thought he was going to say the bikes as well. Ariyona also liked the jump ropers and Hailey mentioned she loved the two big metal things that move move with the performers walking and climbing on them.

I like the whole show but I always look forward to last main event! When you stay until the end, you get to watch someone fly through the air out of a cannon which is so cool to watch in person! I got to watch Skyler Miser be a human cannonball and fly across the arena and land with a bang. She is a second-generation Ringling performer, the daughter of Brian Miser, a legendary circus performer who is probably the only person on the planet earth that could legitimately be nicknamed “The Human Fuse”.
These are just a few of the acts that I was able to capture on video to share with you. It is something you definitely need to see in person.
