If you look in my fridge, you will always find a tub of Country Crock. I normally buy the BIG tubs of Country Crock because we go through so much of it. One of my favorite ways to use our Country Crock is with our VEGGIES!
For me, it has NOT been an easy journey to get my children to eat vegetables (especially at the toddler age). All of my children love green beans, but they are each picky on what other vegetables they will eat without complaining. This mom does not like complaints at the dinner table so I try to give them healthy options that they will eat and enjoy.
I have found that adding Country Crock to our vegetables is a great way to get my kids to eat their veggies. Country Crock aims to help make our vegetables more delicious. Country Crock offers 70% less saturated fat than butter to ensure that your veggies are not only nutritious but also SUPER TASTY!
This Spring we have decided to try to grow our own vegetables. We are participating in Country Crock’s Spread The Love Of Vegetables campaign. We were giving a cute gardening kit to plant tomato and banana pepper seeds. We planted those on May 1st. Once we planted those, I got inspired to plant more vegetables. So we planted more tomato seeds, carrot, watermelon, pumpkin and bell pepper seeds the following day. I was SO EXCITED to see these seeds SPROUTING…..
In this gardening kit pictured above we received to grow for this review, only one tomato seedling has sprouted out of six pots but it is definitely a start and made my day when I seen it. We also have some tomato’s sprouting in another tray of vegetables are trying to grow. Check out what I seen this morning….
Now I have never had a green thumb but these tomato seeds that are sprouting have definitely gave me motivation to plant more. I hope I can continue to keep these growing to where I can transplant them and eventually produce vegetables that I can use in our meals. Not only would that be super cool, it would save some money too!
For most meals at our house, the veggies will be a side dish. Then there are other dishes that I have been successful with that I have thrown the vegetables in that came out a hit.
One recipe that I would like to share is our Slow Cooker Chile-Chicken Tacos. I love chicken, I love tacos and I absolutely enjoy cooking with a crock pot.
Now for some fun stuff. Country Crock is launching a new promotion that you will want to take part of. On May 16th, you can visit the “Love Your Veggies” tab on the left hand side and submit a photo of your family enjoying veggies for a chance to win $100 worth of groceries. You will be able to upload one photo per week up to 8 weeks for more chances to win. You will also have a chance to be featured on the Country Crock Facebook wall as the “Family Of The Week”.
