I can’t believe that Halloween is just a few days away. On Monday, my kids will be dressing up and going around the neighborhood to collect candy and check out all the other ghosts and goblins that will be walking around. In the past, I have always packed up my kids and went to my grandma’s neighborhood, but this year I think we are staying home!

Fish Taco Snack Wrap Recipe + Poptoberfest + Giveaway

I am always looking for new meals to cook for my family. I LOVE to cook, so finding and creating new recipes is something I really enjoy. My favorite time to cook is during the Fall and Summer months, when turning on my oven and baking all day doesn’t heat up my house a whole lot.

I like to eat fish, but I can’t say that I cook or bake fish that often. Instead of cooking fresh fish, I normally buy frozen fish that I can throw in the oven that has directions on the box. I recently came up with an idea for a snack wrap using the SeakPak Popcorn Fish.

Check out my Fish Taco Snack Wrap Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 tortilla – soft taco size
  • 1 TBS cream cheese
  • 1 TBS salsa
  • 3 – 4 pieces SeakPak Popcorn Fish – baked
  • Shredded cheese
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Tomatoes – diced

Instructions:

  1. Lay a tortilla on a plate and spread on the cream cheese.
  2. Next add salsa, cheese, popcorn fish,  tomatoes and lettuce.
  3. Fold ends and create wrap.
  4. Enjoy!

Betty Crocker Fun da-middles Review and Giveaway

I LOVE to bake. I actually have some cookies in the oven while I am writing this review. I like to bake from scratch, but I also enjoy being lazy and baking from box mixes too!

This past week I made cupcakes with a filling in the center. I make cupcakes all the times, but have never been brave enough to try to put something in the middle. That was until I discovered just how easy they are to make with the Betty Crocker Fun da middles cupcake mix.

Now when I make something from a box, it is hard for me not to make changes or maybe add something extra. With this mix, I just had to add food coloring. I thought my son would really get a kick out of blue cupcakes with a white filling, so I added some drops of blue food coloring to the mix before I baked them. I want to mention that before I looked at the instructions, I already thought that making these was going to be complicated. Now after making these and seeing how easy they are, I think I just want to make more filled cupcakes!

The Betty Crocker Fun da-middles is an easy way to make cupcakes at home with a fun surprise inside. DreamWorks Real Steel Movie Review, Trailer & Giveaway

Last night my husband and I were able to attend a screening of the new DreamWorks movie Real Steel that comes to theaters today. I had heard that this was going to be a good movie, but it was better than I ever expected. Although this movie is over 2 hours long, it goes by fast and I definitely want to take my kids to see it!

In this movie Hugh Jackman plays Charlie Kenton, a former pro-boxer who has a passion for buying and fighting robots. These are not just any robots I would like to mention.   These are skilled and lets say GIGANTIC robots that box and perform some awesome moves during the movie.

Charlie doesn’t have much luck with fighting his robots until his son discovers the robot ATOM that has been dumped off a cliff, which they bring back to life. This movie is full of action and kept me and my husband on our seats. Although this is action movie, it does have a couple parts that just might bring a tear to your eye too!

Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Yo Ho, Mateys Away – Review & Giveaway

Yesterday I had the awesome opportunity to host a pirate party at my house. I also had a total of 9 kids in my house, so it was quite the Pirate Party! I decorated the living room with pirate flags and streamers. On a table I put out some pirate jewelry, pirate hats, bandanas and even temporary pirate tattoos to get the party started. All of the kids had fun dressing up, even the older pirates. I then had the pirates eat some pizza while the Jake and the Never land Pirates DVD started. These pirates LOVED the pizza!

After the pirates stuffed their bellies with pizza and pirate punch, they moved over to the couches where they had a better view of Jake and the Never Land Pirates – Yo Ho, Mateys Away! DVD that was playing on the big screen.

Set sail for adventure just off the shores of Never Land. This DVD has 7 action-packed episodes that are filled with treasures, adventure and fun pirate rock music.

I LOVE that this was a hit for all the pirates not just the little mates!

I surprised my pirate guests with a pirate candy platter that they went crazy over. These pirates seemed to really enjoy the pirate candy I found to put in the dish. What kind of pizza and movie party would it be without candy!

I had to let the pirate party go out with a bang with ending the party with some PIRATE CAKE! I was able to take a simple chocolate cake, some pirate decorations and pirate candy to create a cute cake that the kids thought was super cool! Check it out below, it was YUMMY!
