What Domain Names Should You Own?

Do you only own one Web address? Then you're missing the boat!

Here's a hypothetical example. I recently met a well-known speaker
who I'll call "John Smith." At the event, I asked him what his website
was so I could learn more about him. He said, just go to
"JSEnterprisesInc.com"

Not too catchy or easy to remember, is it? I'm guessing he owns that
domain because it's his company name, which is a good thing, but most
people looking to find John will probably type in "JohnSmith.com" or the
name of his latest book, "Reach for the Stars."

When it comes to domain names, you want to make sure you own what
YOU want, but also own what your PROSPECTS will be looking for and
typing into their browsers. With domain names so cheap these days, you
have no excuse not to own all that apply to you and your business.

Here are some names to think about, along with my own examples:

1. Your Company Name
EzineQueen.com
AKBCommunications.com

2. Variations or Common Misspellings of Your Company Name
EzeenQueen.com
ZineQueen.com

3. Your Name
AlexandriaBrown.com

4. Variations or Common Misspellings of Your Name
AlexandriaKBrown.com
AlexandraBrown.com
AlexandraKBrown.com
AliBrown.com

5. Your Products or Book Names
BoostBizEzine.com
(Good to include variations or misspellings here too.)

6. Keyword Phrases
PublishEzine.com
Publish-Ezine.com
(I'm no search engine expert, but from what I understand you want to own
these phrases both with and without hyphens if possible.)

Keep in mind that you do NOT have to create new websites for all your new
domain names! You can have these instantly forward to your main website.
For example, right now when you type in "AlexandriaBrown.com" it automatically
forwards to EzineQueen.com.

My favorite place to buy domain names is GoDaddy.com because they're cheap
(as low as $8.95), have good customer service, and they have FREE forwarding.
They've quickly become the #1 source for domain names on the Web.

Q. Mom, what is your business? Tell us a little bit about it.
A. We sell premium scented, exquiste candles and candle accessories. The
product is so fantastic it sells itself!

Q. How long has this business been around?
A. The direct sales portion (Affordable Luxuries) since October 2002.

Q. Are you happy with your business or is there something different you
would like to do or add to your business?
A. I love this business!! It has exceeded my expectations. I never thought I
would be the "party" rep kind but I have found this business to be a
blessing beyond measure. The products and company are fantastic and I
still can't believe how the products literally sell themselves!! I am
having so much fun with this.

Q. How do you feel your business can benefit others?
A. There are no minimums, very low start up cost (start for $30!) no
inventory to carry and so many ways to sell the product and make your
business successful.

Also, this company is new and exciting with very few reps. You could be
the first in your neighborhood!!

Q. Do you feel like your business is a success in your eyes. Is this the
business that truly makes you happy?
A. Yes, yes, and yes!!!! It's successful because it has been such a blessing.
My husband and kids are very supportive and it has been so fun and
fulfilling beyond my wildest dreams. I couldn't do it without the Lord and
the terrific support from my team leaders (I can't even begin to thank
them for how great they are!). It is growing steadily and I like that
because I can feel comfortable at each stage.


Q. What advice can you give to other moms that want to work from home?
A. Check out the company before you invest and then make sure it is something
you would enjoy and feel good about.

I love candles and was excited about the "offering" Affordable Luxuries
has...so I knew it was for me. I searched for years before I found this
business and I'm so glad I did
