Mom, what is your business? Tell us a little bit about it.
A. Women in Biz is a monthly four color print edition newsletter
for Female Entrepreneurs
Q.
How long has this business been around?
A. Both the newsletter and the website made their debut
October 15, 2003
Q. Are you happy with your business or is there something
different you
would like to do or add to your business?
A.
I'm happy with the positive feedback that I've received from the newsletter
and the website. I'd like to add more subscribers and eventually go from
being a newsletter to a full fledge magazine. The website is still a work
in progress, but I am adding more everyday.
Q. Do
you feel like your business is a success in your eyes. Is this the
business that truly makes you happy?
A. I have to say that I have finally found my calling.
I love what I do! In the past I've tried other at home businesses and was
not happy. I did not feel as if I was really helping anyone. Women in Biz
changed all that. I love it when I receive a thank you letter from a reader
telling me how much I've helped them. I've only been in business a short
time and I feel as If I've been doing it forever. It's so effortless, when
I write, I write from my heart. I think that readers can sense that. So
in answer to your question, yes I feel as If my business is a success, even
if I've only helped a few women.
Q. What advice can you give to other moms that want to work from
home?
A. Don't
be a follower, be a leader. Forget what everyone else is doing; take your
business in the direction that you want to take it. Be unique, think outside
the box! Don't be afraid to take small risks when it comes to your business.
Most important of all never give up! It takes time to build a business and
gain loyal customers. The only time success comes before work is in the
dictionary.

Well folks, now
that we all had a nice holiday season,
it is time to get back to business. Some things you
can do to give your business a lift and charge
into the new year are:
Reassess your
goals - if you have previously written
down your goals, go over them to see if how you have
done. Have you achieved your goals? If not, you will
need to try to figure out why and make some changes.

Expand your networking
- You now have a very well
established circle of contacts, but you always need
to be networking and meeting new contacts. Get to
know others, learn from them, let them learn from you
and get to know you. This is an excellent way of
building a strong foundation for your business.

Streamline your
business plan - Review your plans for
your business. As with your goals, you probably need

Revamp your website
- Look over your website and
see how you can give it a breath of fresh air for the
new year. You don't need to change the entire design
- some new colors or graphics, or some minor
rearranging could do the trick. Also, adding more
content is always a wise decision.

Raise your search
engine ratings - Tweak your keywords
and refine your content to match. Search engines take
no crap so make your site the best it can be for those

- Review your ezine, the layout, design,
and content. Maybe add a new section or add some
reader interaction. Ask your subscribers what they
would like to see in your ezine and what they don't
