Have A Picnic Lunch Arby’s Style – Angus Cool Deli Review & Giveaway – Ended

So out of all the fast food restaurants that I have ever been to, Arby’s happens to one of my all time favorites. Good thing that I don’t have one that is too close, because I might just spend too much money there. Arby’s happens to be my first employer. When I was 15 1/2 and old enough to legally work, I applied at Arby’s and got a job! I was so proud and I worked there a couple of years before I changed careers.

Arby’s has always been popular for their hot roast beef sandwiches. They have a couple of new items on their menu that are delicious. These new items on the menu are their new Angus Cool Deli Sandwich and Angus Cool Deli Wrap. Thanks to Arby’s, my family was able to have a picnic Arby’s style and we got to try their new cold angus been sandwiches out for ourselves.

My husband and I both tried each of these two sandwiches. We actually split them in half so that we could each try them both. After we finished our sandwiches, I asked him which one he thought was better. He said they were both really good. My thoughts exactly.

  • The Arby’s Angus Cool Deli Wrap – Piles of lean Angus beef served cool, topped with crisp lettuce, tomato, red onion, Swiss Cheese, a one-two punch of banana peppers and pickles, mayonnaise and dressed in our delicious sub vinaigrette. Your favorite deli ingredients all wrapped up in our whole grain flatbread for a delicious taste.
  • The Arby’s Angus Cool Deli Sandwich – Inspired by classic sandwich shop subs, the Angus Cool Deli sandwich is lean Angus Beef served cool. Topped with crisp lettuce, tomato, red onion, Swiss cheese, mayonnaise, dressed in vinaigrette and popping with banana peppers and pickles.

I LOVE that Arby’s now has cold sandwiches in addition to their yummy selection of hot roast beef sandwiches. When I filled up our picnic basket full of Arby’s goodies, know that we also had to grab some of our favorite Arby’s Melts. We can’t have a picnic without some curly fries too!

If you are looking for something fun to do this summer, have a picnic Arby’s style! If you would like a chance to win an Arby’s Prize Pack that includes a picnic basket like the one I have and a $40 Arby’s gift card to try out these YUMMY sandwiches, be sure to enter my giveaway below.

Chili’s Wild Or Mild Menu Review and Gift Card Giveaway

One of the restaurants that I have always had GOOD service would be Chili’s. While I don’t go there too often, I have always had a great meal with great service.

Last month my family visited our local Chili’s to try their new Wild Or Mild Menu. When we got there, I checked in with Foursquare on my iPhone. I got a check-in bonus code that said to show to my server. My server went and asked the boss and we got a FREE order of chips and salsa. This is a menu item, so we were happy with the freebie.

When it came time to order the food, it was hard picking which menu off the item I wanted to try. I ordered the Jalapeño Chicken Quesadillas from the Wild or Mild menu. These were super YUMMY! These quesadillas are stuffed with onions and peppers with jalapeño seasoning and jalapeño jack cheese. These are served with sour cream, pico de gallo and ancho-ranch dressing.

My husband ordered the Classic nachos from the main menu and went large and added chicken. These were also very good. We ended up just sharing both plates and were STUFFED.

My experience that evening was very good. Our server was EXCELLENT and we gave her a good tip. We will definitely be back soon to try some of the other menu items from the Wild or Mild menu. Check out the menu below:

WILD:

  • NEW Kicked-Up Queso – Chili’s Skillet Queso kicked up with chipotle spice, house-made pico de gallo and topped with fire-roasted jalapenos. Served with warm tostada chips and house-made salsa.
  • NEW Blazin’ Big Mouth® Bites – four peppercorn-crusted mini burgers with jalapeno-mayo, jalapenos and American cheese. Served with crispy onion strings, homestyle fries and a side of ranch dressing.
  • Crispy Honey-Chipotle Chicken Crispers® – tossed in Chili’s honey-chipotle sauce. Served with corn on the cob, homestyle fries and ranch dressing.
  • NEW Jalapeno Chicken Quesadillas – with onions, peppers, jalapeno seasoning and jalapeno- Jack cheese. Served with sour cream, house-made pico de gallo and ancho-ranch dressing.

MILD:

  • Skillet Queso – Chili’s signature hot, melted cheese dip with ground seasoned beef. Served with warm tostada chips and house-made salsa.
  • Big Mouth® Bites – four mini burgers with layers of flavor – applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, sautéed onions and ranch dressing. Served with crispy onion strings, homestyle fries and a side of ranch dressing.
  • NEW Crispy Sweet Maple BBQ Chicken Crispers® – tossed in Chili’s new sweet maple BBQ sauce. Served with corn on the cob, homestyle fries and ranch dressing.

My First Visit To Buffalo Wild Wings

I went to lunch earlier today with a friend. Since it was her treat, she wanted to take me to Buffalo Wild Wings and I happily agreed. Now I had never heard of this place before it opened near my house, but from I hear, it is a pretty popular place. I had actually been wanting to visit this place, but the hubby is not too fond if chicken wings. So a girls lunch date was in order today!

When we walked up towards the door, we could hear the sounds of football games and I knew this was definitely a “sport style” restaurant. I don’t want to say sports bar, because it is in fact a restaurant that does sell alcoholic beverages. Once we walked, the place was CROWDED. I guess this would be due to the fact that it is Sunday and their are football games on. We were immediately greeted and asked if we wanted to sit outside. Since it wasn’t too hot, we agreed.

Once outside, we were greeted with 11 different flat screen televisions playing football. They also had those cool water misters coming from the roof area just in case we got hot.  We were seated and helped within just a couple minutes. I think the customer service was pretty awesome. We were given drinks, our food and the waitress was pretty good at making sure we had refills. I actually got a refill before I could even ask for one. What I really was impressed with was the management. My friend really didn’t care for the salad she ordered. The waitress asked her if she needed more ranch and she mentioned she really didn’t want the salad. Then just a couple minutes later the manager came up to us asking my friend if she would like anything else and the salad would surely be removed from the ticket. We didn’t ask for any discounts and we appreciate that they had offered this by just being NICE.

So what did I think of the wings? I thought they were really GOOD, but HOT. We got the medium wings and I definitely will not order the hot ones. I think the medium is just perfect, as long as I can dip them in ranch.  I also got one of the Buffalo Chicken Wraps which is really good too!

If you like football, this may just be the spot for you!  Make sure you wear your jersey though, because if you don’t, you might feel left out. I seen a TON of people representing their favorite teams today.

Boohoo IHOP

This past Saturday was my 2nd wedding anniversary. We spent the day with the kids and did not get any alone time until “late” that evening. We left the house at 10pm in search for somewhere that was open late. I was hungry and just wanted to sit down somewhere nice to eat a nice hot meal.  We passed Denny’s and for a second I thought about stopping. I really didn’t want Denny’s since I just ate their just a few days ago with the kids.

For some reason I was craving pancakes and IHOP sounded real good. There is only one IHOP that is close so I drove there hoping for the best. Now I don’t know why, but I always have BAD service at this particular location. I will wait a few months in hopes of some change and it NEVER happens. Saturday night makes a prime example why I don’t think I will be going back. (well, at least to this specific location)

Okay, so we walk into iHop at around 10:30pm. I had honestly thought for some reason that this spot was open 24 hours. Right when we walked in, the waitress rudely says “You know we close at 11 right”. We said “that’s okay we will hurry and eat”. I really wanted to eat a meal with my husband ALONE without the kids before it hit midnight so we sat down at our booth. As normal, we ordered our drinks first and my husband ordered one of those iced coffees. He drank it pretty fast and when the waitress came back around, he asked for a refill. Okay, this must have made her upset because she again rudely says “you know you only get one more”. Well the sign said “free refills”, not “free refill”. When she brought his second cup back, it honestly was full of bubbles and he didn’t touch it. I told him to wait to see if they went away, 5 minutes later they were there. It looked liked soap bubbles from a glass not being washed out completely. Now who wants to drink soapy coffee?

Our meal was GOOD. We both ordered the Double Blueberry Pancakes. I have no complaints on the food whatsoever. I definitely want to order this again, just not where the rude waitresses seem to always be working. While this meal is good, I did notice that it is a little high on the calorie side for me. For those that watch your calories, this might be something you order only as a “treat”.

So, BOOHOO to  you IHOP for making the ending of my anniversary night such a splendid one! And yes, my husband did question the bubbly coffee but the waitress of course said there was nothing wrong with it.

This is not a paid post. I paid for my meal and did not receive any compensation for this review. This review is my own thoughts and opinions.

Rainforest Cafe Review

Yesterday was St Patrick’s Day and I had a teacher conference for my daughter Hannah. The conference went better than expected so I got a wild idea to take a trip to San Francisco to eat dinner. I live near Sacramento, so a trip to San Francisco is about an hour and a half away with no traffic. by the time we got on the road it was after four o’clock. I had wanted to leave earlier but we had to fill up the gas tank, get air in the tires and of course some drinks and goodies for the ride there.

Last night I arrived in San Francisco at about 6pm. We go to San Francisco a couple times a year and I always park in the Pier 39 parking lot. While I was driving there, I had it in my mind to take the family to the Rainforest Cafe. My daughter Hailey had went there a couple years ago with her grandparents and said it was really neat. After that I had a friend post pictures online of her trip to this place. So for the last couple years, I wanted to check it out for myself. After we parked, we headed about a block down the street to the Rainforest Cafe. From the outside of this place, I would have NEVER thought the place looked the way it did. This place is AMAZING. This location has three different levels of seating. What was cool was they told us to go check out the place while we were waiting to eat.

I had to check out all three levels. This place really resembles and sounds like a actual rainforest inside. Now I have never personally been to a rainforest, but I can only imagine from what I have seen and heard on TV that this place seems like the real deal. While we were eating, there were life size  gorillas and elephants moving and lots of noise. My daughter actually said she was scared a couple times but I don’t think she was. My son who is only 2 got a real kick out of the place. I think he thought the gorillas were REAL!

Now to the food. I think I ordered one of the most expensive meals on the menu but it was worth it.  I ordered their meal that included steak,  two different types of shrimp, potatoes and vegetables. The battered shrimp was so GOOD. I really want to learn how to make those at home. Don’t forget the CUTE souvenir cups that you can buy with your drink to take home.

Before you leave, you have to stop by their gift shop full of stuff your kids are going to WANT. Beware, be sure to bring some money with you to this place if you are bringing kids. You can’t go home without the souvenir cups and something from the gift shop.

Okay, enough about the place. I really enjoyed eating at this restaurant even though it was not cheap. Yes, I paid my own bill. I wish it could have been a review courtesy of the Rainforest Cafe, but that is not the case this time. I wanted to share my experience and encourage you to visit this place too! I took a peek at their website and there are more locations than just the one we went to.
