American Public University

I am one of those moms who want to go back to school. I graduated high school back in 1994 and took quite a few college courses at a few different schools. I actually am only one class away from having a degree at a vocational school that I quit going to in 2002. While it seems like it was just a couple years ago that I stopped taking classes, the reality is that it has been about 8 years. While a degree sounds real nice, taking the time away from my busy home life is a task in itself.

What I have been really thinking about lately is looking for some online courses that I can do from home. I am a mom of 4 kids with 3 of those being “school aged”.  My children all go to different school at different times so fitting in a regular school schedule of my own is out of the question “right now”. I would love to take a class or two each month though to enhance my skills. I actually would like to take some sort of advanced web design and graphics class to help me create better images/pages for my websites. With being a “mom-prenueur”, there is always some type of class that I can take that I will benefit from.

If you are a mom like me that is thinking of going back to school in the comfort of your own home, check out the American Public University. Unlike most schools, APU offers classes on a monthly basis.  Moms can participate in more than 100 different degree programs that are tailored to “your own schedule”.  Now this is my kind of school! APU is also very affordable compared to the other options available (cost is $750 per 3-credit course). This fee is among the lowest in the country for an accredited online university.
