My Trip To Michigan With The Real Whirled Whirlpool Moms

(From left to right back row: Serendipty Mommy, Mom Spotted, Rockin’ Mama,  Simply Being Mommy, Momma Findings, Me, 2 Wired 2 Tired and Tidy Mom)

Last month I was invited to take a trip to Benton Harbor Michigan to stay at the Whirlpool Real Whirled House and take a trip behind the scenes at some of the Whirlpool locations. When I first received the invite, I was so ecstatic. See this mom has been in California my whole life. I have only had a chance to see but a few of the 50 states, so a trip to Michigan was totally something that I was up for. I was also excited to be able to meet 7 other Whirlpool Moms that share some of the same interests as I do, blogging!

While I was in Michigan, I had the opportunity to stay a couple nights at Whirlpool’s Real Whirled House. This is actually a 3 story condo with 4 different kitchens as well as multiple laundry rooms. Each of us had our own bedroom at the condo which totally rocked. During our stay, we were able to tour some of the different Whirlpool locations and go behind the scenes. We learned about how some of the appliances like the Whirlpool washer and dryers are tested, a few lessons in cooking and even some tips in laundry care.

On our last day, we were spoiled with a trip to Chicago to see The World of Whirlpool. We got to eat lunch on the roof and make our own dessert with some cool Whirlpool on staff chefs! I had a blast on this trip and had a wonderful time getting to know 7 of my fellow Whirlpool Moms. I took quite a few pictures and want to share some of them with you in my Real Whirled Whirlpool Moms Trip Slideshow below:

I simply cannot tell you everything we did and learned in just this one post. Look for more upcoming posts about Whirlpool and the neat stuff I learned on my trip!

“I wrote this review while participating in a test-drive campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Whirlpool. I received an all expenses paid trip to Michigan and therefore providing you with this post to share my experience.”

Blogger Interview With Producer Don Hahn and Actress Niketa Calame

Last month was a very special month for me. At the end of last month, I was invited to take a trip to Southern California for the Lion King 3D Premiere in Hollywood. Not only did I get to attend the premiere of this movie, there were also fun Disney related events that I got to take part in.

One of those fun events that I was participated in was the blogger interview with producer Don Hahn and actress Niketa Calame. During this awesome interview, Don and Niketa talked about some of their experiences during the production of The Lion King and some of the history that most of us bloggers did not know.

The first thing that shocked me was that this film was originally not going to be called The Lion King. When they first started creating this story, it actually was going to be called King of the Jungle. Check out the video of the interview I took below to find out the other fun facts of The Ling King that we learned.

After watching my video, did you learn anything new about this Disney film?

The Lion King in 3D is roaring into theaters on September 16, 2011 for a two week run. After it leaves the theaters, it will then be released on Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, and an eight-disc trilogy set on October 4, 2011.

I received an all expenses paid trip to Los Angeles to see The Lion King in 3D in Hollywood. These opinions expressed are my own opinions and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation.

Wordless Wednesday – Me and Nolan Gould

Not so Wordless I guess!

So yesterday I was bragging about going to the Lion King 3D Premiere in Hollywood on Saturday. I also mentioned that I got to meet some celebrities and even snap some photos with a couple of them. One cute celebrity that I got to meet and take some photos with was Nolan Gould. Those of you might know him from the show Modern Family, as Luke Dunphy. Nolan also played Sam on Disney’s movie Space Buddies and he also had a role in the recent movie Friends With Benefits.

He has to be one of the most adorable little celebrities I have ever seen and was so nice to let me snap a photo with him. At first I asked if I could take a picture of him, then he suggested that we take one together. How sweet he was. I look forward to seeing him in future films!

Wordless Wednesday – On The Toilet At Blogher ’11

Say Cheese!

I Am Back From BlogHer ’11

Yesterday I attended my first BlogHer Conference. I thought when I made my vacation plans, that I would be able to see what I wanted to see at the conference in a 4 hour period. Boy was I wrong. I actually only covered one Expo Hall in that 4 hours and I was off to spend time with my family in San Diego. My husband had originally suggested that I go to San Diego myself. Being the mommy I am, I thought it would only be fair to take the family with me so that I could take the kids to the San Diego Zoo.

I had a BLAST during the 4 hours that I was at BlogHer but was disappointed on my drive home. While I did have fun during my time there,  I left leaving without meeting a couple moms I wanted to meet in person (especially Rhea). There was also a few companies that I wanted to stop at, that happened to NOT be in the Expo Hall that I covered.

So what did I learn? I definitely am going to try to attend the BlogHer Convention next year and I am going alone. This is a GREAT opportunity to meet other bloggers and get to know the companies that work with bloggers as well. You cannot do the whole conference in one day and especially not with the family waiting at the hotel for you to come back. I also learned that if I only plan to cruise the Expo Halls, be sure to buy a ticket early. I paid FULL PRICE for my ticket and only seen one Expo Hall!

I heard that next year’s BlogHer Conference ’12 will be in New York City.  Will you be going? If we did not get to meet this year, I hope to get to meet more of you next year in the Big Apple!

Taking A Trip Is Overwhelming – Still Needing To Buy Ticket – #Blogher

So I am trying to make the trip to BlogHer possible this weekend. I am so the procrastinator and am making last minute plans I wish I would have done weeks ago. I am trying to figure out what to wear, what to bring and how am I going to manage to do everything I want to do in the time I plan to spend.

Okay, so I am planning on going to BlogHer on Saturday. I went online to buy a expo pass and they are SOLD OUT. Lucky me, the procrastinator is now going to pay full price. If you are wondering why I did not purchase my ticket yet, well I wasn’t sure I was going to go. Now that I am determined to go, I am feeling a bit overwhelmed on making my plans for my trip….

So tonight I am up late, trying to catch up on all my work before I head off to Southern California tomorrow.

Since I am frugal and LOVE to save money if I can, if you are a company and would like to make a “last minute” sponsorship for this mom to make an appearance at BlogHer 11, feel free to contact me. I am in need of a ticket and plan on purchasing my ticket for Saturday tomorrow afternoon before I leave….

Are you going to BlogHer? Leave me a comment and be sure to say hello if you see me!

Debating On Going To BlogHer 11

Last year I envied all those that went to the BlogHer ’10 conference. After it was over, it was announced that the next BlogHer convention was going to be in San Diego. I was excited because I live in California, only about 10 hours away. Let me tell you, the day the tickets went on sale I wanted to buy one. I didn’t buy one and I still don’t have a ticket. I am making plans to go, but my plans are not set in stone. I tend to be a procrastinator when it comes to making plans that involve going out of town.

Thinking that this event is less than 2 weeks away scares me. I haven’t bought my ticket and if I do get brave enough to go (like I am planning on), where am I going to stay? I know the hotel that that this conference is at is booked and the ones surrounding are booked or seem so overpriced for my checkbook. I really should have planned this trip MONTHS ago, but I didn’t. I know, I am one of those moms that do things at the last minute. Or at least plan things at the last minute because I have been thinking of this trip for months.

So I totally want to go, but I am SHY. There are so many bloggers that I would like to meet in person, but walking up to them and making conversation might not be easy for me. I am hoping that one of my online buddies (like Rhea) will let me tag along with her because I definitely don’t want to walk around alone!

If you are going, please leave me a comment and let me know….. Maybe I will see you there!
