This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Revlon for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Ever since I was in junior high I have enjoyed trying different makeup products to see which ones look the best on me from foundations, mascara, lipsticks, lip gloss, etc. I remember playing with my moms makeup when I would play dress up, but it wasn’t until I became a teenager that I really wanted to wear it.
One thing I do remember my mom saying not to wear is blue eye shadow or red lipstick. I listened to her advice up until today when I participated in a Revlon Expression Experiment.
Last month I received a black box that included different Revlon makeup products for me to try. In this box I found some eye primer, color correcting primer, nail polish, eyeshadows, lip gloss and a couple tubes of lipstick. Let me point out that the lip gloss and lipsticks are a red color. Something I don’t know that I have ever worn. You will also see some blue eyeshadow.
Since I was going to step out of the box with this experient, I knew I had to be fair and try some blue eyeshadow and one of the tubes of red lipstick.
So today was the day to get brave and take a picture for my blog with no makeup. Normally I am picky about the pictures I post, but I want to show you a before an after.
Here is me before I used my new Revlon makeup for this experiment.
I then got out of Revlon box of makeup and got out the eyeshadow palette with the BLUE eyeshadow. What I like about these specific Revlon eyeshadow palettes is the instructions on the back to show you where to apply each color.
I applied the eyeshadow as it directed, added some black eyeliner that I always use, added my black mascara and topped the experiment off by applying some new Revlon Colorburst Cherry Tart Lip Butter. I then went outside to snap another photo and ask the hubby his thoughts.
Here is what I looked like after I applied the Revlon makeup:
I definitely stepped out the box with using these colors. My husband said he liked it, but maybe I could make it look not so bright. Not sure if he dislikes the red lipstick or the blue eyeshadow but my daughter thought it looked good and I had fun experimenting.
I actually can’t wait to use the orange nail polish I received. I would use it now but I have a french manicure that I am waiting patiently to change. I also look fowards to using the other palette of pretty Revlon eyeshadows too!

Revlon is looking to inspire woment (like me) to get of out their comfort zone and try some new expressions. You will find that Revlon offers functional tools, education, inspiration and new products that will help to enable you to step out of your box too!
Do you wear the same colors or do you like to experiment?

I experiment, but I always end up going back to my comfort zone.
I am definitely going back to my comfort zone, but it was fun getting a reaction from my husband and teenage daughter.
LOL this is exactly what I do. I have my favorite makeup and system in applying them. Anything else never looks right (to me at least).
I’m not thinking that’s the right color combo for you
I switch up a bit depending on the colors I’m wearing.
Definitely not the right color combo but I might be able to pass for a clown.
I love using their eyeshadow once in awhile.
I’ve enjoyed experimenting more lately and have found more color combinations but they are all “safe” colors.
I do love the lipstick – the blue is def. too bright, but you have beautiful eyes. I would love to see the orange nail polish – I’m really into orange toenails right now
I like the lipstick too. I think the blue is maybe too much, but did you apply the other colors in the palette too? I wonder if it was blended if it might look better.
You are so brave and honest – I love that! And yes, your eyes are gorgeous! I have brown eyes, so I could never get away with wearing blue shadow
I love the eyeshadow!! I wish I could be brave to try bold colors like that. They look great on you!
It’s always fun to experiment — I love makeup.
Make up is fun! Do with it however it makes you feel good.
