Halloween Is Coming Soon

I am excited that Halloween is coming very soon. I have not yet decided if I am going to dress up this year like I did last year. Last year I was very pregnant and dressed up as a pregnant nun. My kids thought it was cool that mom dressed up and took them trick or treating. This year I had to buy a costume online. My baby boy who is 9 months now has a nickname of "Turtle", so I wanted to find him the perfect turtle costume. I could not find any infant turtle costume anywhere in the stores near me. I was searching Ebay one day and found the perfect costume. So he will be a turtle, Hannah is going to be Cinderella, Hailey a pumpkin and Ariyona a mouse.

There is a great selection of costumes online. If you are looking for specific costumes such as Movie Costumes, character costumes or whatever else you can't find in your local stores, be sure to check out the online Halloween costume stores. I love shopping online, so buying the turtle costume online instead of going to more stores and wasting gas saved me time and money!

My First Trip To Panera Bread

I had recently created a blog post on The Warrior Forum about those who are frugal. I had read a reply from someone who goes to Panera Bread each day to use their "free internet access". Lately, I have been passing a Panera Bread location and have wanted to stop. I had some free time yesterday while waiting for an appointment and surprised my husband by stopping their for lunch. I was really impressed by the inside of the place as well as the food options available. We tried a regular sandwich and one on panini bread. Since the sandwiches come sliced in half, we got to try them both by giving eachother a half. Both of the sandwiches were really good and the side of chips we got. It was sort of high price wise, but worth the visit!

Next time I am brining my laptop!

Many of us are currently in debt because of the economy. You cannot even imagine the number of house just in my neighborhood that have "Bank Owned" or "Bank Repo" signs in their grass. It is actually pretty darn depressing if you ask me. I was recently driving the neighborhood with a relative of mine looking for houses for rent and was bummed to see how many homes there actually were for sale because the bank took them back. I know I don't want to be one of those that loses their home. I hope to be able to refinance very soon and get locked into a cheaper interest rate.

Garage Sale Shopping

I never thought shopping at garage sales would be so much fun. We went to breakfast this morning and on the way back passed an estate sale. I got some pretty cool stuff from that sale. Then I seen another sale right by my house. We ended up getting the coolest bird cage and a BIG fish tank. Now all I need is a bird and some fish to go with them!

Have you ever needed a driver for a device on your computer and you could not find it? I have been pretty lucky to find most of the drivers I have ever needed online. I know that many things you buy will come with CDs with the drivers on them. Many will loose those CDs over the years though and need a place to look online when they need them. The very first step in setting up your blog is deciding what type of platform you will be using. As with Blogger, you login to their website, create an account and setup your blog from their site. You can choose to have the blog hosted on Blogger or your own server. I have been working on building an empire of lens on Squidoo. I hope to generate a big monthly check within the next year. My goal has been to try to create a new lens each day. Below is an article I have wrote to help other moms learn how to make money with Squidoo too!

Make Money With Squidoo – A Mom’s Dream Come True

Parents, especially moms are constantly trying to think of ways to make money at home. As a natural instinct, mothers want to be the one to raise their newborn children, not put them in daycare. I have been there myself. I worked the full time job while my grandmother watched my daughter. It took me some time, but I was able to quit my job and work strictly from home. I am now helping other moms find ways to make money at home too!

There is a very popular website that not many moms are aware of. This site I am referring to is Squidoo. This is a social website that allows it’s users to create one page websites called lens. Squidoo was created by an internet marketing guru who wanted to create an easy way for everyone to make some extra money. How you make money with Squidoo is by creating quality lens that other visitor’s are going to want to view and buy from. There are a few ways that you can make money by creating lens on Squidoo, not just one.

When creating a lens on Squidoo, you are given the option to add different modules. These are modules such as text boxes, polls, guestbooks, etc. Included in these modules are ones from Amazon and Ebay. When you add these modules, you can let Amazon or Ebay pick was is going to be displayed on your lens, or you can choose select items of your choice. When a visitor views your lens and clicks the Amazon or Ebay item and makes a purchase, you are going to make a commission. You have to share this commission though with Squidoo. If you don’t want to share, you can signup for an Amazon Associate account and place Amazon products one your page this way. The benefit of using the Amazon or Ebay module is saving time.

A second way you can earn money through your lens is by promoting your own product or service. If you have no product or service, you can signup for affiliate programs. You then would write about the product and include your affiliate link on your lens. When the visitor views your lens and makes a purchase, you make commission through the affiliate program. Some of the popular affiliate programs being used with this are Clickbank and Commission Junction.

The third way you can make money with your lens is by Google. When you create a lens, Google ads are automatically placed on your lens. When visitors come to your site and click the Google Ads, money is being made. The money from the Google ads on your lens is placed in a pool. The pooled revenue is used to first pay overhead and then the remaining is allocated to the lens. The allocation of this revenue is based on the LensRank and traffic to the lenses. It will be important to gain lots of traffic to your lens to receive this type of revenue.

The last way to make money with Squidoo that I am aware of is by referring others. When a visitor comes to your site and signs up for a FREE account with Squidoo, they become your referral. If they accumulate $15.00 in revenue from their lens, you will earn $5.00. You can view your referrals at any time by visiting the Dashboard in Squidoo and going to “My Stats”.

Now you can see where this is a moms dream come true. Moms and dads can create lenses on stuff they are interested in and earn money doing so. It actually can become a hobby to that is rewarding. One thing to remember is you won’t make money overnight with this. It might take a few months if not longer for your lens to start generating income. You will want to promote your lens as much as possible for the best results.
