I was thinking a couple months ago about Christmas and what I would be buying my family members. The thought came to my head to build my mom her own website. She asked me almost a couple years ago to build her one. I kinda blew her off because 2 years ago, I didn't know as much as I do now. Now creating a site is nothing complicated for me.
I tried to think of what type of site I could create my mom and how I could make it create a possible stream of internet income. She loves gardening so about a month ago I began building a site for her. She has no clue I have been building it for her. What I have done is created a basic site. I am going to add tons of content. There are lots of gardening articles and such. I have also added a few affiliate programs to the site. To top it off I have started a gardening blog for her. This will be her way to add content to the site since she doesn't have a clue on how to build one or probably doesn't even know what HTML stands for.
How am I going to give it to her? Well I have ordered a box of business cards for her with her name, website name and such. When she opens the box of cards, I think she is going to know what her gift is.
I am hoping somehow she doesn't get online and read this post. I don't even know if she knows what a blog is or has even seen this blog yet. She has recently moved and hasn't setup her computer and internet connection yet. I bet as soon as she opens her box of cards, she is going to be trying to get online.
I want to ask some of you that are into gardening to visit the blog I have setup for my mom and subscribe to her mailing list for the blog. I think it would be awesome to have some subscribers to start with.
My moms site I have created is My Garden Tools and her blog is called Plant Lady's Gardening Blog, Plant Lady is her aka among her friends.
