Learning To Cook Like A Chef

When I watch my favorite talk show each day, I see a ton of commercials for different schools during the commercial breaks. One type of these commercials I see that really gets my attention are the commercials for the different cooking schools in my area. Now I want to take some classes in cooking for my own benefit. I don't want to become a chef in a restaurant, just one at home. My husband says I am a good cook, but I would love to be able to cook more than just the basic things I cook all the time for my family.

When I see the commercials for these various culinary arts schools, I wonder how big the demand really is for this profession. The commercials I see are always stating there is a huge demand for this type of industry. While I plan on working for myself for the rest of my life, maybe one day I just might want to open a restaurant of my own. I have always been wondering how much it costs to go to one of these schools. Since I just want to do it for fun, I may benefit from taking some cooking classics at my local community college.
