I have been a Comcast cable customer for years. I have always wondered what the difference between cable tv and DirectTV is so I went online to search for the difference. The biggest difference I see is that Direct TV offers more channels for what I pay for my current cable bill. While I think I could get a ton more channels by signing up for one of the Direct TV offers, I know it would be a huge hassle for me to switch. I already have a Direct TV dish on my roof which probably doesn't even work. It was here when I bought the house. Currently I have my phone, internet and cable all through the same company. This makes it easy to pay just one bill each month.
The Direct TV specials are pretty tempting though because I really want some of the movie channels that I don't have right now. On Directtv.com I seen they are offering over 150 channels for only $34.99 per month.

34.99 a month? i would switch. comcast is great when it works, and if there's any sort of technical problem, they are a NIGHTMARE. i had two occasions in the course of a year when my telephone and internet didn't work because of probs with comcast, and getting the problems fixed was an enormous hassle. i switched my internet and telephone, but i'm stuck with them for cable.
besides, movie channels sound great. i hate that comcast doesn't have tcm.
I have had direct tv for almost 7 years now. The reason we signed up with them is because they are the only ones that offer NFL Sunday Ticket. My husband and I are huge football fans.I love direct! They have fantastic customer service and offer so many more channels. My mom came over last night to babysit. She is also a comcast costumer. She was amazed at how many more channels we have compared to her service. She assumed we payed much more, but found out we are actually paying the same amount. She is switching over. If you decide to do the switch and no one else has referred you, send me an email. If you refer a new costumer, you get a 50 dollar credit!

We have DirecTV now and we love it!
