Need A Merchant Account?
If you run an online business, accepting credit cards is a must! I am one that uses my credit card for almost everything I buy. I don't carry cash and I like to spend money daily. There are many services that I use a credit card for as well. There are many different merchant services available for those wanting to offer credit card purchases on their site. One that you might want to review is OnlineChecks.com. They offer merchant services with no fees, no contracts and best of all, a FREE crecit card machine. If you don't accept credit cards , now is your chance.

Until Next Time

I would add from personnal experience (I also run a small e-commerce site) a few tips :

1) start by paypal, even if the commission rate is high (~3.4%) for a few month in order to check your volume. Then go ask a merchant account with your paypal reports so you can negociate the setup fee, monthly %, etc..

2)Select a good shopping cart adapted to your activity : a shopping cart goes from $0 to $400K. There are some easy and convenient shopping cart that can be setup in a few minutes : 1&1shopping cart, e-junkie cart (they have a free version), etc..

Don't go too fast in your research for the perfect balanced solution and don't pay thousands for something you can do after a little research and a few days of work.

I also run a site that still misses some articles and tips regarding launching a home e-commerce business, in the meanwhile you can checkout the home employment opportunities I list and the updated amazon book selection I just made related to working from home.
